When people find out they have a different biological parent who isn't the person who raised them, they strive to have a relationship with both parents. However, those people still tend to be closer to the person who raised them.
One woman recently refused to support her sister, who ruined her relationship with their dad after blowing him off for the man who turned out to be her biological father.
She's 28 and the youngest of three kids. Her siblings, Donna and Jake, are in their early 30s.
They had a loving childhood, and their dad was a great man. However, their worlds were turned upside down when Donna was 10, as their dad found out their mom had been unfaithful before Donna was born, and Donna was not his child.
"Our parents divorced, but nothing changed with Dad and Donna," she said.
"He still treated her the same, but he also told her if she ever wanted to know her biological father, he would love, support, and help her in that journey, too. When Donna was 20, she asked Dad for help finding her biological father. He paid for the DNA test and other expenses, including travel, when she found him. He [also] paid for therapy and held her hand throughout."
Her dad was incredibly supportive through Donna's journey to finding her biological father and encouraged her and Jake to support her as well. During the first few years after finding her biological father, Donna decided not to have a relationship with him.
Then, everything changed three years later. Donna got back in touch with her biological father and formed a relationship with him without telling anyone, including their dad.
No one had any idea Donna was back in touch with her biological father until she got engaged and invited him to her engagement party, where she introduced him as her "real dad" during her speech.

"Dad took it in stride and said it was sometimes hard to find the words," she recalled.
"Donna asked Dad if he would pay for her biological father's hotel room for an extra night because he could only afford that one night, and Dad did this for her. When she got married, she asked Dad to pay, and he did. Then she had her bio father walk her down the aisle and only mentioned him in her toast. Dad was so heartbroken."
Also, at Donna's wedding, Donna refused to take any solo pictures with their dad that didn't include her biological father.
Things got worse as time progressed. For instance, when it was time to celebrate their dad's big 60th birthday, Donna refused to participate in any party planning, as she felt it wasn't fair to her biological father.
Then, when Donna became pregnant with her first child, she did something that broke their dad completely. She told him she didn't want her child to get confused about who their grandfather was, so her biological father would be the only grandfather in her child's life. She decided to stop referring to their dad as her father figure and let her biological father 'adopt' her.
"She didn't try to include Dad in her baby's life at all," she added.
"But now her 'real dad' has let her down, and she went crying back to Dad, saying she wanted him to be in her life again. She wanted him to reassure her that nothing was wrong, and Dad refused. She told him he shouldn't reject his grandchild, and he said he never rejected his grandchild, but she made it clear he didn't have one."
Now, Donna is causing a lot of drama as she's looking for support from a man she essentially cut out of her life. Donna tried getting her and Jake involved, but she told Donna she didn't want any part of her "pity party" and refused to give her any support.
Now, Donna is furious with her and accusing her of being cold and cruel.
Is she being cruel for not supporting Donna, or does Donna need to deal with the consequences of her actions?
