She Wore Her Mother-In-Law’s Wedding Dress After Her Sister-In-Law Gained Weight And Couldn’t Fit Into It, So Her Sister-In-Law Accused Her Of Stealing The Family Tradition

According to her mother-in-law, it was “her dream” for a family member to wear her wedding dress, so she said she could try it on so they could take photos.

The dress was too tight for her, so they kept the dress unzipped for the photos, ensuring to take pictures only from angles where no one could tell the dress wasn’t zipped from the back. Later, her mother-in-law developed the photos, framed them, and hung them on the wall in her home.

Everybody saw and admired the photos during the next family dinner at her in-laws’ house. Several family members said it was a wonderful “tradition” and that she looked beautiful in the dress. Her sister-in-law didn’t chime in, so she thought she was depressed seeing the photos.

After dinner, she and her husband drove home, and his sister called him in tears. While venting, her sister-in-law told her husband she was cruel and inconsiderate for taking the chance to wear the dress away from her.

Her husband didn’t include everything his sister said on the phone because she bad-mouthed her throughout the call.

When she texted her husband’s mom to find out if everything was all right, her mother-in-law urged her not to be concerned because her daughter was overdramatic.

However, she felt guilty because the “tradition” her mother-in-law wanted to start was supposed to be with a daughter, so it made sense that her sister-in-law was upset.

“Usually, I tend to think I’m always right, but I do think I maybe should have declined my mother-in-law’s request. I acknowledge that I should have handled this differently. At the time, I truly didn’t think it was that big of a deal,” she shared.

In her opinion, her mother-in-law isn’t mean to her daughter and doesn’t fat shame her in private. It seems like her sister-in-law and mother-in-law have a close bond and that the whole family is close, especially since the family gets together for dinner every Friday night.

Plus, her husband’s mom and sister attend church every Sunday and have dinner together.

She asked her sister-in-law to come over for dinner to chat, and her sister-in-law accepted the invitation. Later, her husband’s sister texted her to say sorry for calling her brother to vent about the situation instead of discussing her frustrations with her.
