She Won’t Let Her Husband Meet Her Baby Because He Thought She Was Cheating On Him And Left Her All Alone During Her Pregnancy

Sometimes, a parent can be so absent that even though a child is biologically theirs, they’ll never truly belong to them.
One woman recently refused to let her estranged husband see their newborn son after he wrongfully accused her of cheating and kicked her out of their house while she was pregnant.
She and her husband are in their mid-30s. He works a job requiring him to travel far from home for sometimes weeks.
Months ago, she found out she was pregnant with their baby while he had already been away for work for almost a month.
Around that time, a male friend from high school visited her town. He was a photographer and asked her to show him around so he could take some pictures. She was happy to have a visitor and drove her friend around all day, giving him an innocent, quick hug before he left.
Unfortunately, her husband’s nosy aunt happened to be around while she was saying goodbye to her friend. Without her knowing, the aunt snapped a picture of her hugging her friend and sent it to her husband, accusing her of fooling around while he was away for work.
Right before her husband got home, she was looking forward to telling him about the baby, unaware that he had seen photos of her and her friend out of context.
“I thought he would be very happy,[as] we were trying for a baby, and he has always wanted to be a father,” she said.
“But he didn’t say anything. After a week or so, when he came back, he was furious at me. He said I was cheating on him. I explained everything, but he didn’t believe me. I also tried to contact my friend, but he disappeared.”

No matter how hard she tried to get her husband to believe that she hadn’t cheated on him with her friend, he refused to. To make matters worse, his aunt wouldn’t drop the accusations, and eventually, her husband decided to kick her out of their house. Not even the news of her pregnancy was enough to change his mind.
“He said he was sure the baby isn’t his [since] he wasn’t with me for a month,” she recalled.
“He can’t see me right now. And I will be getting the divorce papers soon, too. With that, he had pushed me out; I had seriously thought I was going to fall and get hurt. My parents were out of town, and I didn’t have any trusted friends in town with whom I could stay the night. I didn’t have any money on me at the time either. He knew all this but still closed the door in my face. I called my brother, who lives in another town [and] he drove four hours straight. I was sitting on my house door this whole time, in the cold. [My husband] ignored me the whole time.”
After her brother collected her, she began living elsewhere, and her husband had no contact with her. He said he needed “space” and never once reached out to her during her pregnancy.
Thankfully, she was able to give birth to her baby boy safely, without her husband’s help or presence.
Her soon-to-be ex didn’t show up to see the baby until days later and after a paternity test was done to ensure the baby was his. However, she refuses to let him see their son and doesn’t want him to be involved after everything he put her through.
“He’s apologizing since then [and] I haven’t shown him the baby yet,” she explained.
“He’s saying he made a mistake [and that] he really loves me. He [claims] will make it up to me. I told him I’m not buying it. He says I can’t keep him baby from him [because] it’s his baby [and] he has a right to see it.”
Should she continue to withhold her baby from her soon-to-be ex or allow him to see him to avoid further drama?
