She Broke Her Dad’s Heart After She Altered The Wedding Dress He Bought For Her Since Her Fiancé Didn’t Like It

This 29-year-old woman and her 35-year-old fiancé, Cole, are getting married in September of next year.
They’re in the middle of planning everything, and she wants all the details to be perfect for their big day.
She originally met Cole when they started working for the same business, but they took some time to begin dating to avoid conflicts.
“Eventually, after making some sacrifices, we began our relationship, and after some time, Cole proposed,” she explained.
“While my family, especially my sisters, are excited as I’ll be the first among us to tie the knot, my dad hasn’t been as enthusiastic.”
“He isn’t fond of Cole and often suggests I could do better, though he ultimately respects my decisions as long as I’m happy.”
It’s always been her dad’s dream to purchase wedding dresses for her and her sisters. She and her dad spent every single Sunday for a while shopping for the ideal wedding dress together.
They worked pretty hard to find the one, and they finally found the best dress for her. Her dad was thrilled and purchased it for her.
The dress she picked was a little loose, and the store where her dad bought it promised to have that fixed.

“After receiving my dress at home, Cole wanted to see it, and when I showed him, he told me that it might not be suitable since it looked like a grandma’s dress,” she said.
“Looking in the mirror, I understood his point and felt disheartened because he was right. Cole cares deeply for me and always wants the best. He’s one of the few people I trust and often proves his instincts right, which has been incredibly supportive and helpful in really hard situations.”
“Cole reassured me that everything would be ok and took the dress with my MIL, who is an expert in dress alterations.”
One week after Cole and her mother-in-law took her wedding dress to be altered, she was having dinner with her family one evening.
Her dad questioned her if she was feeling like a princess in light of her special day, and she enthusiastically said yes, considering that Cole was improving her dress.
Her dad got upset, and she filled him in on why Cole had her wedding dress. Her dad then stated she allowed Cole to alter her dress because he’s the one who disliked it.
She responded that it wasn’t like that; Cole simply showed her how awful she looked, and he was right in wanting changes to be made to it.
Her dad actually got up and left their family dinner. She tried to text and call her dad, but he ignored her.
“When I asked my sister what had upset him, she accused me of hurting our dad by letting Cole change the dress just because he didn’t like it,” she added.
“She suggested I ask Cole why, mocking me, that I couldn’t make decisions without him.”
While she feels sad that she broke her dad’s heart over this situation with her wedding dress, she maintains Cole is all about her best interests. He even sold his car in order to have the cash to fund around a third of their wedding.
After her dad and sister reacted in the way that he did, which shocked her, she’s left wondering if it was wrong of her to get the dress altered.
