Everyone knows that moving in with your partner is a big "next step" in relationships. But while it's natural to have some disagreements as you blend your lifestyles together, is it a red flag if your partner's entire personality (and treatment of you) suddenly switches?
This 28-year-old woman is currently wondering the same. She moved into her 35-year-old boyfriend's apartment about two weeks ago, and out of nowhere, he's become quite condescending and controlling.
For instance, her boyfriend has begun telling her how to style her hair and what clothing she should wear.
"And he discourages me from going out on my own. He's also been pushing me to cut off some of my friends," she added.
Then, last night, she was totally caught off guard when her boyfriend claimed she needed to "stop eating dinner altogether." Why? Well, apparently, he thought he was a "high-value man" who could have his pick of women.
Now, she realizes that her boyfriend earns a solid salary, but it's not like he's anywhere near being rich. Not to mention, her appearance (including her weight) hasn't changed whatsoever from the time they first met.
"I've always had an athletic build, just about 15 pounds over the 'ideal' BMI," she explained.
In the past, her boyfriend used to praise her body, too, and call her beautiful constantly. So, she's genuinely confused about what's changed.
"I've been with him for eight months, and this side of him didn't show up until I moved in," she vented.

Thankfully, she would be fine financially if she opted to leave her boyfriend. She doesn't depend on him for any financial support, and she continues to work and cover her own expenses. Plus, he actually asked her to move in rent-free, so it's not like he's trying to take advantage of her funds, either.
Understandably, though, his sudden interest in her "maintaining her body" over the last two weeks has put her on edge. And now, she's not sure whether she's overreacting to that and the "high-value man" remark, or if she has a right to feel concerned.
Do you think her boyfriend is finally showing his true colors? Should she leave this relationship before things worsen? What would you do in this situation?
