When it comes to weddings, TikToker Birdie (@birdie1216) has seen it all, from fairytale ceremonies to emotional disasters. She claims to be able to tell if a couple’s marriage will fail before they even walk down the aisle, based on these two signs.

“I can tell that you’re going to get divorced before you ever get married,” Birdie began her video.

“That’s because I do wedding planning, so I’ve seen it time and time again. I’ve planned over 100 weddings, and this time, we’re talking about the brides.”

According to Birdie, the number one warning sign of an impending divorce is when a bride completely dismisses the groom’s desires.

For example, the groom might suggest including the color blue in the wedding, but the bride immediately vetoes the idea.

Or, perhaps she insists on cutting his high school best friend from the wedding party just because she doesn’t like the way he looks. Whenever the bride puts her needs and wants first, without considering the groom’s, their marriage will almost always end in divorce.

The second major red flag is if the bride is really high-maintenance to the point where she’s willing to diminish the guest experience.

That’s an indicator that the marriage won’t last. Birdie recalls a scenario that she has seen happen multiple times, where the bride does not provide dessert for the guests, so she can afford two or three outfit changes during the reception.

“If the bride is putting herself first all the time with every decision, she’s not about the marriage, she’s about the wedding,” concluded Birdie.

Her insight sparked a wave of comments from viewers sharing the compromises they made for their own weddings. Most of them couldn’t fathom the idea of disregarding their husbands’ opinions.

“I changed my whole color scheme because my husband wanted to wear a kilt, and I didn’t want the colors to clash with his kilt. (My husband is British),” commented one user.

“Mine wanted Star Wars on Star Wars day. I wanted lots of flowers and greenery. The compromise was a Forest Moon Endor theme. It was fun and beautiful. Plus, we now own 16 light sabers,” added another.

“I really wanted a cheesecake for dessert, but my husband wanted chocolate tiramisu, so that’s what we went with. He hardly made any requests; I feel good about giving him that, even though the tiramisu wasn’t as good,” chimed in a third.
