Recently, TikToker @thehodgepodgeplace went on a jaw-dropping first date, and it wasn’t because of bad small talk or a forgotten wallet.
This one took a much weirder turn. The guy she went on a date with thought she was his sister and tried to obtain DNA evidence of it.
So, during their first date, he asked her if she knew her own father. She thought that was an odd way to start a conversation on a first date.
It’s not exactly the kind of icebreaker you expect when you’re just trying to enjoy a night out. But she replied that she knew who her father was.
The date went on for another 20 to 30 minutes before he asked the same question again. She wanted to know why he kept asking and pressed him for an explanation, but he blew her off and told her there was no particular reason for it.
About an hour into the date, she caught him trying to take a strand of her hair. She continued to sit there for another 15 to 20 minutes because it had not yet occurred to her that she could simply get up and walk out.
Finally, after an hour and a half, she decided to leave. He asked to give her a goodbye hug, to which she politely agreed. While they were hugging, he grabbed the hair from the back of her head and yanked it a little.
She jumped back and screamed. Stunned, she demanded an explanation once and for all. That was when he revealed that she might be his sister, leaving her completely flabbergasted.
“What…do you mean I’m your sister?” @thehodgepodgeplace said.

“I do not have another brother that I don’t know about, and you went on a full-on date with me, thinking I was your sister. Why? To try to steal my hair, to blood test me, or drug test me, or whatever you want to do to try to figure out if I’m your sister or not?”
He told her that he had been trying to match with women on the internet and going on dates with them to see if they were his sister because he figured out who his biological father was, and apparently, his father had around 30 other children.
He was also selecting individuals who shared similar traits with him.
Needless to say, she did not agree to a second date. His behavior was super invasive and unsafe. Some might even say that he belonged in a true crime documentary, not on a date.
There are many better ways to learn about your family tree than using dating apps to go on dates with women who resemble you and collecting hair samples to test if you’re related.
