When TikToker Shannon (@skjameson) and her husband first moved to Cincinnati from Fort Lauderdale, they did a lot of house hunting before landing on what they thought was the perfect home.
They found a really old, big house for an amazing deal. It had just been renovated, so it looked modern, but it was built in 1910.
The house had four stories and a creepy, unfinished basement. The main floor contained the kitchen and had two sets of stairs, a front set and a back set for staff members.
There were a total of three bedrooms on the next floor up. One of the bedrooms had what used to be a crawl space, but it had been redone to be a bedroom/bathroom combination.
“When we first moved in, we were a little uneasy about it, like the first night, but we just chalked it up to we had moved a few times, and you’re always uneasy the first night,” Shannon said.
She stayed at home with the dog all day, while her husband went to work. The floors in the house were the original hardwood floors, and their dog refused to walk on certain areas unless there was carpet.
Shannon would often hear clicking noises behind her. She didn’t know what those noises were, but she would shout out loud for them to stop. The dog also barked at random corners of the house.
“I remember one time specifically, we were touring the house…and she went to a specific corner and just started barking like crazy,” Shannon recalled.
“My dog would growl at the light fixture on our main floor in our family room.”

In that same room, a handprint was found on the floor. Shannon refused to go into the attic or basement alone because she was so spooked and uncomfortable by those areas. She always felt like she was being watched.
Her husband did not believe in ghosts at all, but one night, he woke up all of a sudden and said that he had heard his name being called three times.
He thought Shannon was calling his name, but she had been sound asleep. After that, her husband refused to be in the house by himself.
For New Year’s Day, they threw a party and invited a bunch of friends over. Three people at the party witnessed a glass being set on a completely dry countertop, yet the glass slid across the countertop on its own.
If that wasn’t strange enough, Shannon has seen the hands on the clock drop down at the same time. The hands on the clock did not actually work, even though it was brand-new.
Shannon did not know the history of the house at all, but she invited her aunt over because she has always been very intuitive about spirits.
As she toured the house, she pointed to the same corner in the hallway that the dog always barked at. She revealed that a spirit was just in the corner and flew up to the attic.
Her aunt then went up to the attic to take a look around. According to her, the spirit was an older woman, and the house had been a boarding house for women.
Shannon and her husband lived in the house for a month in 2021. They ended up moving out and into an apartment right away. Since then, no one has lived in that house. It was only sold recently.
