Five years ago, during the pandemic, TikToker @montanagrl4066 decided to do her part and donate blood because it was in short supply back then. That was when she discovered a decades-old family secret that changed everything she knew about herself.
Up until that point, she had no idea what her blood type was. When she went in to donate, she was told that she had B positive blood, which cancer patients really needed.
For context, TikToker @montanagrl4066 is the youngest in her family. When she was born, she had an 18-year-old sister, a 17-year-old sister, a 16-year-old sister, a preteen brother, and a 9-year-old sister.
After donating blood, she was talking to one of her sisters on the phone when she decided to ask what her blood type was. Her sister said she was A positive. The following week, she talked to another sister, who was also A positive.
She was growing more confused by the second, so she called her other siblings and found out they were A positive as well. Her brother-in-law found her dad’s military dog tag and told her that his blood type was O positive.
At that point, her mom was in her eighties and had dementia. She was living with her oldest sister, so she called up her oldest sister and asked to speak with her mom about her blood type. Her mom said she was A positive.
Finally, @montanagrl4066 started freaking out, thinking that she must be the product of someone else. After hanging up the phone with her sister, she talked it out with her husband.
Twenty minutes later, her sister called her back, saying that their mom was mistaken, and she thought she was actually AB positive.
TikToker @montanagrl4066 didn’t really believe this, but she accepted the answer because it helped her calm down. Her mom ended up moving in with her for the last year and a half of her life.

She waited until her mom passed away to take a DNA test. She did the test, sent it in, sat back, and waited for the results.
“Email comes through, I get my results, and I’m like, huh,” she recalled.
“Everything I’ve ever been told my entire life, like we’re German, French, Irish, Scottish, and I’m not even close to any of those things.”
Her oldest sister came up as a 32% match to her, but if they were siblings and had the same parents, it should’ve been a 50% match.
Now, she’s wondering if one of her sisters got pregnant in high school, and her parents stepped up to raise her, or if her dad had an affair.
Several TikTok users shared their theories in the comments section.
“I bet your sister is your mom. Make her take the test to prove you wrong. If she won’t, you know your answer,” commented one user.
“If your sister had a baby, wouldn’t one of the other siblings remember her being pregnant? What about the option that your mother had an affair?” questioned another.
“As soon as you started talking, I said it was your older sister. And when you said your sister called you back…one of your older sisters is your mother,” stated a third.
