When TikToker Rachel (@rachelanderson471) spotted a red flag her date was displaying, she zipped out of there at lightning speed. She left the date in less than two minutes at the first sign of trouble. It was one of her proudest moments of personal growth.

So, she had really been looking forward to going on a first date with this guy. He told her that it was a surprise and instructed her to wear something comfortable as if she were having a lounge day at home.

So, she put on a pair of sweatpants, a sweatshirt, and tennis shoes and threw her hair into a messy bun. However, the problem became clear the moment she arrived.

It turned out that he wanted to take her to a fine-dining restaurant, the kind of place where sweatpants are very much not the dress code.

She immediately walked out, got back in her car, and drove off. She picked up some fast food for herself to enjoy.

“As soon as you meet me, you want to level the playing field by humbling and/or embarrassing me by bringing me to a place where you know that I am underdressed? Absolutely not,” said Rachel.

Her old self would’ve messaged him to try to figure out why he had done such a thing. But the Rachel of the present day blocked him right away.

He showed her his true colors, and she refused to give him the opportunity to humiliate her again.

Many TikTok users applauded her for not wasting her time with a man who was clearly trying to “test” her. They also shared their own stories about men orchestrating stunts meant to cause embarrassment.

“The immediate block without even trying to text him to find out why he would do that is what makes this so impressive!” exclaimed one user.

“When I was like 20 to 21, a guy asked me to dress up because he was going to take me somewhere nice. He showed up at my door in cargo shorts, a T-shirt, and flip flops. He saw me and laughed and said, ‘I just wanted to see if you would do it.’ I slammed the door right in his face,” commented another.

“I had a man fake propose to me in the middle of a packed restaurant after I told him I get embarrassed being the center of attention around people I don’t know. I had to disappoint everyone and say it was just a joke, and I just walked out when he went to the bathroom. The waitress ran after me with my drink in a to-go cup,” shared a third.

“I left a date in two minutes without saying a word in my twenties when a guy snapped at the waitress. Uh, no. Bye,” added someone else.
