TikToker Ashley (@temporarilyashley) lives in a 350-square-foot apartment in New York City with her boyfriend, and she’s giving an apartment tour to show off how she utilizes a compact space.

When you first walk in, you can get a full view of the entire apartment. The kitchen is off to the left. It comes with plenty of cabinets, a stove, a refrigerator, a sink, and limited counter space.

They added a kitchen island and wicker baskets for more storage space. Additionally, there is a closet next to the refrigerator that fits most of Ashley’s stuff.

Next, they placed a tiny bistro table in a corner of the apartment. It has just enough space to fit a lamp, a laptop, and one other small item. The living room area contains a white couch and a dresser. She also uses the dresser for some of her stuff.

The bedroom is the only room with windows, so they don’t get much natural light in the living room. They are able to fit a queen-sized mattress in the bedroom, two small nightstands, a closet, and a full-length mirror.

The closet in the bedroom is for her boyfriend, Tristan’s stuff. They also have an air-conditioning unit.

The bathroom is to the right when you first walk in from the front door. It has a bathtub, sink, and mirror. Ashley had to install some shelves to hold all her makeup products. There is no in-unit washer and dryer, so she has to go to the laundromat every Monday to do her laundry.

“Our location’s like insane, and quite frankly, at full transparency, we only pay [$3,150], so in our area, that’s actually unbeatable,” said Ashley.

“If we went even to our neighbor’s apartment, it would be $4,100 because they renovated them all, so we’re looking to never move if we don’t have to and just make upgrades along the way.”

In the comments section, many TikTok users were impressed with how she managed to make the apartment so cozy and organized.

Others just couldn’t understand why she would want to live that way.

“You deserve an award for making this work for two people and still feel airy. Still digesting the price, NYC is out of control,” commented one user.

“That’s insane. My mortgage here in Dallas, Texas, is $1,750 for a new build,” stated another.

“Great use of space. I moved out of NYC years ago. Couldn’t take it anymore. $3,100 for 350 square feet is unreal. My house in Florida is nearly 5,000 square feet. I’m 15 minutes from the beach. My mortgage is $2,700 per month. I will never go back to NYC. They’ll probably tax me just for visiting,” declared a third.

“I cannot even fathom paying that kind of rent for that! I have a whole house and fenced-in yard for $3,800 in New Jersey (45 minutes to the city). And why anyone likes living in NYC is beyond me. Super cute place, though, for NYC,” added someone else.
