In April or May of 2022, TikToker Courtney’s (@courtort) husband came out to her. By January 2023, they were divorced. Her ex-husband went through a rapid transition from male to female over the summer and fall.
Courtney flew home to visit her parents in September, and while she was home, she kept seeing a woman at her house on the doorbell camera.
She asked her husband who this woman was. Her husband told her that she was just a friend from work who needed a place to stay. Her name was B.F. (for the sake of the story).
Courtney felt uncomfortable having a stranger at her house when she wasn’t there. But her husband reassured her, saying it was just like when she hung out with her girlfriends.
B.F. started coming over all the time. When Courtney returned from her trip, she realized that B.F. had been sleeping in her bed with her husband.
That did not seem appropriate to Courtney, considering they were still technically married. The whole thing felt off to her, even though her husband insisted that it was just a girls’ sleepover.
Shortly afterward, they decided to separate. Her husband found an Airbnb to move into until she could secure permanent housing.
The first time that Courtney dropped their kids off at his condo, she ran into the woman. Apparently, B.F. was staying with Courtney’s husband again.
Courtney wasn’t comfortable with this and tried to take the kids, but her husband got very upset and caused a scene. Then, when Courtney’s ex-husband moved into her new house, B.F. followed her.

Her ex kept telling her that B.F. was looking for an apartment and would be moving out soon. But months later, it became clear that they were living together permanently. They were pretty much having an affair while Courtney and her ex were still legally married.
One time, Courtney was FaceTiming with her daughter when she saw her ex and B.F. in the shower together. She immediately confronted them about how inappropriate their behavior was.
“There were just a lot of lies and deceit along the way, and again, not that I needed to know every single thing, but I felt like, because there were children involved in staying at the home, it would have been important to share all that information and to at least have open conversations to set those boundaries,” said Courtney.
Around Thanksgiving of 2024, she found out that her ex got engaged to B.F. after her son mentioned something about a ring. They planned to get married in August and have a big wedding, but they actually ended up having a civil ceremony in February.
The whole experience has been one long, wild ride. And that’s how Courtney’s ex and her new wife got together.
