After going on a date for the first time in a long time, TikToker Nellie (@nellielynnfit) has been left traumatized, and now, she’s done with dating. So, she was set up on a blind date through some people she knew.
She started chatting with the guy and found out that he was 6’1,” so she decided to wear high heels on the date. Nellie is tall, and in the past, she has had men ask her not to wear high heels because they were intimidated by her height.
This guy offered to pick her up for their date, but she politely turned him down for safety reasons. They met up at the restaurant instead. When she got there, she didn’t see him, so she texted him.
He was sitting toward the back of the restaurant by the bar. She walked over and saw that he didn’t look like his picture online. He was also much shorter than he had claimed to be.
Nellie was immediately put off by the way that he had lied to her before they even met. They ordered drinks at the bar and planned to move to a table for dinner.
They were informed that they needed to close out their tab beforehand. Nellie’s date fumbled around his pockets for a moment. Then, he announced that he had forgotten his credit card.
Nellie didn’t mind paying for the drinks. Afterward, he complimented her on doing “such a good job.” When she asked him what he meant by that, he revealed that he made her for pay for the drinks as a test.
He wanted to know if she was the type of woman who expected the man to do everything for her.
That was enough for Nellie to abruptly stop him mid-sentence. She told him that she was leaving the date because this was not what she wanted at all.
“One, you lied; two, you’re testing me already,” said Nellie. “You’re a grown man, and the fact that you tested me to see if I would pull out my card. I come from a very southern family, and my dad always told me to pull out my card, but if the man ever takes it, leave.”
So, Nellie bought a bottle of wine for herself and proceeded to walk out of the date. In the comments section, many TikTok users could relate to her terrible dating experience.
“Wow, that was the second test. First one was to see if you would leave when you saw his height,” pointed out one user.
“I had a similar experience. But after the first lie and an insult about my age, I immediately dropped him. Then, I walked away and immediately blocked him. I haven’t dated since,” commented another.
“My sister and brother-in-law once set me up on a date. I was in my late teens, worst date of my life. Never again did I do a blind date,” added a third.
