Learning how people meet their significant others and consequently fall in love never gets old to me. Meeting someone online is surprisingly common in this day and age, but have you ever heard of someone meeting the love of their life on Snapchat and moving to another country for them?
Alex Sunny (@alexsunnyyy on TikTok) did, and she definitely has an interesting love story. Alex met her husband on Snapchat back in July of 2024, and she didn’t get to meet him in real life until December of that year.
Alex works as a truck driver, and she was hoping to meet someone on Snapchat she could talk to while on the road. She definitely was not looking for a relationship, but as the saying goes, “you find love when you’re not looking for it,” right?
Alex started talking to her husband for 12 to 15 hours a day, so when she had the opportunity to actually see him face-to-face, it wasn’t like he was a stranger to her, since they had been getting to know one another over the phone so much.
Ever since then, they have been in a long-distance relationship for close to two years, and Alex is ready to move from America to Afghanistan, where her husband lives.
To clarify, Alex’s husband is unable to move to America, which is why Alex has made the decision to pack up and relocate to Afghanistan so they can be together.
Alex has received many online comments and questions about her decision to move for love, and she did take the time to answer some of them recently. One of the most frequently asked questions is why she wants to make this move.
“I haven’t seen my husband in almost two years, so I’m just going to go where he’s at because he can’t come to where I’m at, and that’s really my why,” Alex clarified in her video.
A second question people are desperate to know is whether Alex is Middle Eastern, and she is actually half Jordanian. Alex’s mom is from Kentucky, and her dad is from Jordan, so she has dual citizenship.

A third question popped up, wondering if Alex’s kids are from her husband, but Alex doesn’t have kids, so that was just confusing, and who knows where that person came up with that.
And finally, Alex addressed a comment someone left saying they would just find a new husband instead of moving to Afghanistan.
“This comment must be why divorce rates are so high in America,” Alex fired back.
There absolutely is a lot of negativity in the comments section, and people have opinions on what Alex is doing, all in the name of love.
“Why not pick another location for you both to meet?” someone wondered.
“If I were your husband, I would encourage you to stay put because your safety and well-being matter more than us seeing each other,” another person commented.
“I don’t understand why everyone is hating. let her do her thing. She’s an adult. She knows what she’s doing. She’s free. ” Go give your help to women who want help!” a third person exclaimed.
