If you think your job has its fair share of weird moments, spend five minutes in a bank, and you’ll quickly be humbled. TikToker @mister_dad0 has worked in banking for over 20 years, so she has seen some bizarre things. Now, she’s sharing her favorite banking-related stories from her two decades in the industry.
First off, a woman had filed ATM disputes saying that the withdrawals were unauthorized. When asked if she had written down her PIN anywhere, the woman stated that her PIN was tattooed on her arm.
“It’s probably an important date, like an anniversary, but to respond that way is kind of crazy,” pointed out @mister_dad0.
Secondly, a guy tried to dispute an Uber transaction because he met someone on a dating app and paid for her ride over to his place, but the woman never showed up.
TikToker @mister_dad0 added that she wouldn’t even write that information in her diary, much less tell that to her bank.
Number three: a woman called the bank, wanting to know why her account was negative. When @mister_dad0 told her that she didn’t know how to explain without going over all the posted transactions, the woman said that she was going to hold @mister_dad0 personally responsible for her miscarriage because she was stressing her out.
Number four: a woman disputed a bunch of transactions as unauthorized. All the transactions happened to take place near where she worked.
She claimed that someone must have come into her office, stolen her debit card, used it for the fraudulent transactions, and put it back before she noticed it was missing.
Next, a man disputed charges from a gentleman’s club in Vegas. When @mister_dad0 reached out to the gentleman’s club, they sent her photos of the front and back of the man’s debit card, his driver’s license, his fingerprints, and itemized receipts of everything he purchased, including dances.

Number six: a woman called in and admitted to a crime that she didn’t realize was a crime. So, she freaked out and paid the bank what she owed in the hopes that they wouldn’t press charges against her.
Finally, a guy disputed transactions for a day trading company, so the bank filed chargebacks. The company responded with more than 150 pages of every single email exchange, chat transcript, copies of his logins, and the type of device he used.
The CEO of the company even sent a long letter detailing the timeline of events with this guy and their intent to sue him for fraud.
In the comments section, many TikTok users shared similar stories about working in a bank.
“My favorite teller story is a couple was divorcing, and the husband came in to move all the money from a joint owner account to a sole owner account. He and his wife reconciled, and he put the money back into the joint account. She came back and moved the money to a different bank and divorced him,” commented one user.
“Someone I worked with who used to be a teller told me a woman was upset because her account was overdrawn. She told the teller she doesn’t know how she’s out of money if she still has checks left in the checkbook, and she was being serious,” wrote another.
“I worked in the call center at a smaller bank for five years. The amount of gossip and tea kept me coming back every day. Folks are out there disputing so many things, thinking we won’t do our own research,” added a third.
