Annie (@anniedaniellee on TikTok) is sharing a bad first date story that will leave you wondering where some men get their date ideas from.

Annie’s friend actually set her up with this problematic man, who was one of her closest friends. This man was a Navy SEAL and incredibly fit.

“I’m literally just a girl, so I was like, you know what? I would never do this, by any other circumstances, but I was like, let me follow him on Instagram prior so that he gets a feel for my vibe,” Annie explained in her video.

“Let me give this dog a bone and give him some insight into who I am, because I’m a girlie girl. So he asked me if I want to go on a bike ride, and I’m like, I mean, sure?”

“We lived in San Diego at the time, so I’m thinking a nice little sunset cruise, like a mile? So I’m like, alright, well, I need him to understand that I’m not a cycler, whatever you call it.”

Annie told the Navy SEAL she was down for the ride, so long as he didn’t tease her about her pink bike, complete with hearts and a basket.

Annie figured the description of her bike would be enough of a clue for this guy to get that she was not trying to go crazy; she wanted a relaxing time.

Annie dressed in denim shorts, an off-the-shoulder crop top, and sandals for the date. Her roommate reminded her to bring a sweater in case she gets cold, so she grabbed that.

When the Navy SEAL arrived to pick Annie up from her house, she was horrified to see that he was dressed in full-on cycling attire.

He looked like he was ready to compete in a triathlon, and Annie’s stomach dropped. The Navy SEAL packed Annie’s pink bike into his truck, and off they went.

Then Annie found out that he had picked an incredibly hilly spot for their bike ride. So much for the romantic sunset cruise Annie had pictured!

As they drove up through all of the hills, the Navy SEAL promised to park closer than he usually did for Annie’s benefit. They finally stopped and unloaded their bikes.

The Navy SEAL put on a backpack full of water, and it hit Annie that she was going to be in for the ride of her life.

“He then looks at my bike and goes, ‘Oh, yeah, your tire is a little flat. That’s going to make it tougher for you,'” Annie added.

They began pedaling, and it was terrible. The Navy SEAL attempted to carry on a conversation with Annie as she struggled to catch her breath.

Other cyclists whipped past Annie, and she was furious. Annie scaled two giant hills before insisting they had to call it quits. Upon turning around to head back, the Navy SEAL acted irritated and said he wanted to make it a workout for him.

Annie was having a harder time going back the way they came, and the cyclists that whizzed on by told her to keep pushing harder.

Annie was pouring sweat, mainly from humiliation that she was pushed into a Navy SEAL style workout against her will. Onlookers cheered for her and said they couldn’t believe she made it, given her outfit.

Annie was not happy that the Navy SEAL cluelessly and cruelly thought the bike ride would be a great first date idea. After wrapping up the bike ride, they headed off to dinner at a restaurant that had no vegan options for her.

Annie was stuck ordering a plain side salad with no dressing, and she got a literal cup of Iceberg lettuce. They also got hard kombucha, so Annie was nearly falling down.

“I just burned 12,000 calories and had one piece of lettuce for dinner. So I’m like, I need to go home. We go home, or he takes me home,” Annie continued.

“We get out, and I’m like, oh my God. That was…I’m like so hungry, I’m sweaty, I’m exhausted. And then the next day, he texts me and is like, ‘Do you want to go get ice cream?'”

Annie didn’t get it. She still doesn’t. And this guy obviously didn’t get that he took her out on the worst date of her life.
