If you found out that someone you love dearly was doing something horrific and illegal, what would you do? Would you turn them in and further ruin their life, forcing them to face the music? Or would you cover for them because you love them?
This man and his wife have a 22-year-old daughter who has a job working the night shift. Recently, his daughter left her tablet out on the table while she was at work, and he heard it going off.
Without thinking, he checked the messages his daughter was getting sent to her iMessages, and what he found blew him away, and not in a good way.
His daughter has been hooking up with a 15-year-old boy, and he’s living a complete nightmare after uncovering the truth about this.
“I found out his age and the relationship through the account. The chat history shows she’s been having an affair with him for months,” he explained.
“The things she writes to him…she manipulated him, blackmailed him into not telling and keeping it a secret. I saw messages from the boy, and in one of them, he says he’s afraid his parents will find out they met in secret a few times.”
“Now I can’t recognize the person I raised anymore; she’s not my daughter. I’m sitting here in the dark, and I just don’t know what to do. I feel like I’m going to lose control. If I don’t do anything, I’m complicit in this monstrosity. Where did I go wrong in raising her?”
His thoughts are running wild, and he said the version of his daughter he thought he knew just went up in flames, and it’s going to stay that way.
His wife was asleep when he made the discovery, and he didn’t have it in him to wake her up to share the awful news with her. He’s extremely anxious about what his next move should be.

He’s not sure if he should go straight to the police or kick his daughter out of the house as soon as she comes home from her night shift.
Each state has its own laws on the age of consent, which range from 16 to 18, so what his daughter is doing is unquestionably illegal. There’s just no way around it.
And who knows when this started; this poor kid could have been even younger when his daughter started going after him. I don’t think he has a choice but to go to the police and turn his daughter in for being a predator, and he should bring the tablet with him to hand over the proof.
He shouldn’t wait to tell his wife; he should do everything in his power to try to help protect this boy.
What do you think he should do?
