It’s a universal rule that as a wedding guest, you are absolutely not supposed to wear anything white, because that color is exclusively reserved for the bride.

So how would you feel if on your wedding day, your best friend showed up in a floor-length white dress and intentionally made a scene?

This 26-year-old woman has a 27-year-old best friend named Sarah, and they have been close since they were back in high school, meaning they have a decade of friendship between them now.

She asked Sarah to be her Maid of Honor at her wedding, which was three weeks ago, but Sarah did something so diabolical that she’s still left reeling.

“The morning of the wedding, my mom called me and said Sarah had shown up in a floor-length white dress with lace detailing. Not ivory. Not cream. Bright white,” she explained.

“I was told by three separate people before I even saw her. When I finally did see her, I pulled her aside and asked her quietly if she had another outfit she could change into, and she looked me dead in the eye and said she did not think it was a big deal because she was not the one getting married.”

Not wanting to make waves at her own wedding, she tried not to let Sarah’s outfit choice bother her while she resolved to still enjoy her big day.

But when the ceremony was over, the photographer jumped in to prevent Sarah from being in the majority of photos, since Sarah obviously blended in with her own white wedding dress.

It was so distracting, and Sarah, of course, noticed that she was being barred from pretty much every photo being snapped. Sarah then spent the remainder of the reception sobbing to the rest of her guests about how she asked the photographer to intentionally exclude her in order to embarrass her.

“She made at least four people come up to me during my own reception to defend her. I found out two days after my wedding [that] she had posted on her social media that I had treated her horribly and that I had always been jealous of her,” she continued.

“I blocked her on everything. My husband thinks I overreacted by blocking her and that I should have had a conversation first. My mom says Sarah was wrong, but that blocking her was too harsh. I genuinely do not know anymore.”

She’s left wondering if she’s the jerk for dealing with Sarah in a silent way instead of confronting her beforehand.

Well, Sarah sure showed her true colors wearing a white dress to her wedding, and she knew what she was doing. No 27-year-old woman is unaware of the rule about leaving white for the bride.

Sarah was absolutely attempting to upstage her and make the wedding all about her, which means Sarah isn’t a true friend after all.

Sometimes, calling someone out on their bad behavior just isn’t worth the time, energy, or attention, and quietly kicking them out of your life is the best move.
