A late-night knock at the door can change a person’s life forever. One day, at four in the morning, TikToker @aeybeybey12 received a knock on her door from the police, telling her that the man she had been dating for 10 years had died in a car accident.
That night, he had gone to work. She knew he didn’t drive because he didn’t have a driver’s license, so something was up. She called his workplace, and they told her that he had taken a personal day. She then spoke with the girl he had been carpooling with for about four months.
“He’s been seeing this girl from his job, and he told everybody that we weren’t together anymore, so it was okay for them to be seen together at work,” said @aeybeybey12.
“Well, I didn’t know anything about this. He’s gotten this girl to come to pick him up from our house. I don’t know this because I work midnights, so I’m trying to piece together what’s going on here.”
It took her about two weeks to reset his phone. When she went through his phone, she found videos that her boyfriend had taken with his mistress on the day he died. They went to a hotel and a club. They got kicked out of the club, and that’s when they lost control of the vehicle.
Her boyfriend died on impact, while his affair partner died four hours after the accident. It was a very devastating time for @aeybeybey12 and her family. She had to plan his funeral. He left behind three kids, and his affair partner also left behind three kids.
“We were all crushed,” said @aeybeybey1. “That still affects my family today, especially my youngest kids. That was their dad since they were two and three.”
“It definitely dimmed their light and dimmed mine. I lost myself for about a year and a half. I became a whole different person. But I came back around for the sake of my kids.”
There was no closure for this situation. She never had the opportunity to ask questions or receive answers. Eventually, she realized that she had to forgive him in order to move on with her life.
In the comments section, several TikTok users shared similar experiences.
“I lost a boyfriend to a car accident, and he had a whole other female in the car with him. Unfortunately, she survived, but that hurt my soul,” commented one user.
“My ex had a heart attack and passed at his side chick’s house,” stated another.
“My grandfather died in the car with his side woman and their baby, and he told my grandmother he was going to the store to buy their baby some shoes,” wrote a third.
