A TikToker who goes by the handle @cicicurls is telling a chilling story about a woman named Marisol. Things might’ve ended badly for her if not for her mother’s warnings.

“There is an old Spanish saying that says never accept gifts from people you do not know,” said @cicicurls. “And it all ties in with the story I’m going to tell you today.”

Marisol found it odd that her first-floor neighbor was constantly offering her gifts, such as cookies or even a teddy bear. She politely declined the gifts each time, but the neighbor always kept insisting that she take the gifts. Still, she maintained her ground.

One night, Marisol was taking out the trash. When she turned around, her neighbor was right behind her. The neighbor greeted her and brought up the gifts again, not understanding why she didn’t want to take them.

The entire exchange rubbed Marisol the wrong way. Feeling pressured, she agreed to accept the gift next time just to end the conversation.

The neighbor’s face lit up in excitement. Marisol bid the neighbor good night and quickly walked to her door. The next day, Marisol had just gotten home from work when her neighbor suddenly materialized outside with a gift in hand, as if waiting all day for her return.

Her neighbor presented her with a mirror, which Marisol had not been expecting.

“She’s like, yeah, I’ve been wanting to get rid of this mirror, and I didn’t want to throw it away,” @cicicurls said. “And I thought maybe this would be the gift I give you, and maybe this opens the door for me to give you more gifts.”

The mirror was huge, almost the size of a person. Marisol reluctantly took the mirror and heaved it up the stairs. It appeared to weigh only five pounds, but it felt like 20 pounds.

As she attempted to get the mirror through her front door, she felt some kind of invisible forcefield preventing her from taking the mirror inside.

She left the mirror on the side of the door because it didn’t match anything in her living room anyway.

Around bedtime, she called her mom and told her about how her neighbor had given her a mirror as a gift. Marisol’s mother stopped short and then launched into a lecture about how it was bad luck to receive a mirror from someone because it transfers their bad luck over to you. The mirror can also trap your soul and cause you to become sick.

Her mom instructed her to stand in the doorway of her bedroom and do a prayer of protection over her room. So, they both did the prayer together out loud.

Then, Marisol had to sprinkle a bunch of salt in front of her bedroom door. Her mom said she would do an additional prayer before she went to bed.

The next morning, Marisol woke up and saw a trail of salt leading all the way to the mirror. She freaked out and tossed the mirror in the trash right away. After that, the neighbor never spoke to her again.
