The summer between fourth and fifth grade, TikToker Dazee Mae (@dazeemaee) was kidnapped and managed to escape. At the time, her mother was addicted to drugs and was dating this one guy.
“I don’t really know what was going on with this person or behind the scenes, but this was the same summer, at the beginning of the summer, when I actually found out that my mom was using drugs,” Dazee added.
One day, there were intense tornado watches in the Midwest where they lived. The guy her mom was dating took them for a drive.
Dazee didn’t know where they were going or why. The weather got so bad that they had to pull over into a parking lot. Eventually, they ended up in an area that wasn’t familiar.
They were in the middle of the woods with a large clearing and a huge barn. There was also a dilapidated house nearby with a trampoline in the yard.
Dazee and her mom started living in a tent. They lived there for the entire summer.
She would often wake up in the middle of the night and go over to the barn to look for her mom. But the people in the barn would only crack the door open and tell her that her mom was busy.
Then, they shut the door, leaving her no choice but to return to the tent. She stared at the moon until she finally fell asleep from exhaustion.
When the school year started back up again, the guy her mom was dating moved them into an empty trailer across the street. At that point, Dazee had already been to three or four different school districts. She was able to convince them to let her go back to her original school.

However, she only attended the school for a week or two before the guy her mom was dating showed up one day to pick her up early.
Her mom was waiting in the car because he wouldn’t allow her to go into the school.
They ended up going back to the house he had taken them from during the storm. He went inside and left them alone in the car. The second he disappeared, Dazee’s mom jumped into the driver’s seat, backed out of the driveway, and sped off. They made the one-and-a-half-hour drive to her grandma’s house.
“After that, I had realized that we had escaped something my mom didn’t want to be a part of and that we were not willingly participating in our wilderness excursion for the last four months,” said Dazee.
Her mom parked the guy’s car somewhere so that his family member could pick it up. And that’s the story of how she and her mom got kidnapped.
