About six months ago, TikToker Brittany (@brittanyybowen) went on a date with a guy who did not bring any money, forcing her to pay for everything. To top it all off, he even asked her for gas money at the end of the date.
So, this guy asked her out on a date, and she didn’t really want to go because she had a feeling she knew how it would end. But he was exactly her type, so against her better judgment, she agreed to go out with him.
He picked her up in a Mercedes-Benz, immediately setting a certain expectation, and they went to a brunch spot. She complimented his car, and he proceeded to tell her that he had two luxury cars: the Mercedes-Benz they were currently in and a Mustang.
He proudly declared that both of the cars were paid off.
During brunch, they struck up a decent conversation. Overall, the date went well, but it wasn’t amazing by any means. When the bill came, the total was $45.
It was only that expensive because he had ordered multiple glasses of fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was $5 per glass. Brittany had kept it simple, ordering a plate of food and water.
Suddenly, he announced that his credit cards had been frozen due to fraud, so he didn’t have access to any money. So, she awkwardly paid the $45, and they left. But it didn’t end there. On the way home, his car ran out of fuel. He asked if she could pay for gas.
“At this point, I either put gas in the car or I walk home,” said Brittany. “Those are my two options. We go to the gas station, and I put gas in his car.”
“I think I put like $20 in because I’m like, I need to make sure I get home so I never see this man again.”

After dropping her off, he had the audacity to ask if she wanted to hang out again. She told him that she wasn’t interested, but he continued texting her for about a week. Eventually, she stopped responding.
“Like, you took me out on a date, and I ended up paying for the date and filling your car up with gas, and then you want to go out again?” Brittany said.
“Sir, as far as I’m concerned, you have an open tab, and you owe me money, so until that tab is paid, you’re cut off. We cannot go on another date.”
Now, Brittany is questioning when he found out that his credit cards were locked. Did he go on this date knowing that he didn’t have any money?
Was she nothing but a free meal ticket and a source of gas money to him?
