In 2016, TikToker Jose (@nycgaydad) got arrested, and his son ended up in the emergency room on the same day. Jose is a wedding planner, and on the day before a wedding he was doing, he and his assistant went over to the couple’s house to collect all the boxes, escort cards, wedding favors, $43,000 in cash, and the wedding dress.
They packed everything in the car. As Jose started to drive away, he checked his phone to see if he was headed in the right direction.
Suddenly, a cop pulled him over. He quickly told his assistant to put the $43,000 somewhere on her body so that the cop wouldn’t see it.
The cop then ordered Jose to get out of the car and arrested him for driving with a suspended license. He told his assistant, who had just moved from Vietnam, that she might have to drive his car. It was also only her first week on the job, and she didn’t know how to drive.
It didn’t matter anyway because the car got towed with all of the wedding items inside. Jose was thrown into jail. The cop told him that if they didn’t hear back from Albany by 5 p.m. and he didn’t have a prior record, he would have to spend the weekend in jail.
Jose was freaking out because he had a rehearsal dinner to attend in four hours and a wedding to manage the next day. At 4:45 p.m., a fax came through, allowing Jose to be released.
“I get out of jail; I figure out where the car is,” said Jose. “I don’t even have time to go get dressed for the rehearsal dinner, so I run into H&M, pull something together, and go to the rehearsal dinner. Nobody has any idea what’s happening. I find out my assistant got the cash. I don’t know where she put it, but she listened.”
After the rehearsal dinner, he started to head down to the subway when he received a call from his nanny. His son had just learned how to pee standing up, which the nanny had no idea about.
The nanny’s toilet seat happened not to be working properly, so when his son went to use the bathroom, the toilet seat slammed down on him.

Jose rushed to the emergency room with his son, who was screaming in pain. They finally got back home at three in the morning. Jose’s daughters woke him up, crying at five in the morning. Then, he had a 16-hour day at a wedding on little to no sleep.
Later, he took the couple out to dinner and told them the whole story. They couldn’t believe that he had to handle so much chaos on top of their wedding.
