One morning, TikToker Christi (@christimcneill) was lying in bed after her husband and kids had already left the house. She was scrolling on her phone, drinking coffee, and just relaxing with her dogs when her normally chill cat suddenly came bounding downstairs to her room.

The cat was growling and seemed scared of something. Her tail was all puffed up. She corralled Christi and the dogs upstairs. Usually, the dogs are pretty reactive to any people or wildlife outside around the house, but they weren’t reacting to anything like the cat was.

Christi wondered if her cat was picking up on something that no one else was detecting. This behavior was out of character for her cat.

She typically slept all day and liked to lounge around in the sun. Because of her young age, she was a little hyperactive, but nothing like this.

In the middle of texting her siblings about it, Christi suddenly received a message from a phone number she did not recognize. The text read, “I’m outside. Can you come out for a sec?”

It creeped her out, and thinking it might be a neighbor, she called her husband to ask if he had the number saved in his phone.

“First of all, I’m not going outside; I’m in my robe,” said Christi. “Second of all, text me what you need. I don’t need to come outside to talk to you. And I’m also like the skeptic. I’m like, this is just spam. Surely, these things aren’t connected.”

Christi is still unsure if the random text message and her cat suddenly freaking out are somehow related incidents or just a coincidence.

Many TikTok users were in agreement in the comments section that Christi’s cat was protecting her from something dangerous.

“Alright, here’s some insight. Cats are your spiritual protectors. Dogs are your physical protectors. Nothing is a coincidence. The cat and the text are related,” commented one user.

“Cat was trying to get you upstairs for safety so you wouldn’t go outside. As someone said, I totally believe my cat protects me from the spiritual realm, and my dog protects me from the physical,” wrote another.

“When I was a teenager, my cat was sitting on the floor, staring at the window. The next morning, I went out and saw a milk crate outside my window. Peeper,” shared a third.

“My cat Thumper started growling and lying flat on the floor in my living room. She was facing my glass doors, and the drapes were closed. This was nighttime. She never did that before. I jumped up to look out and saw a man running away! The police came and needless to say, they loved Thumper, my new watch kitty,” added someone else.

Creepy little experience to start my day. Do you think these two events are connected or just randomly happened at the same time. #paranormal #cats #storytime
