A few weeks ago, Dr. Ahmed (@gamingdocmbbs) was doing his night shift at the hospital and checking on patients when he experienced something unsettling.

As he walked past a patient’s room, he saw that they were struggling with pulling up their bedsheets. This patient was nearing the end of their life and was expected to have less than 12 hours to live.

Of course, Dr. Ahmed went into the room to help them. He gave the patient’s hand a squeeze to convey support and comfort. The patient thanked him in a weak voice, which was expected of someone dying.

“I turned around to leave, and they suddenly squeezed my hand with a vice grip, and I’m like, whoa,” said Dr. Ahmed.

“I turned around to see if they need something, and they’re looking at me with the most clear, steely-eyed vision, directly to my face. Looked a bit creepy because the room is dark. There was just a little sliver of light casting on their face from the door.”

The patient spoke in a clear, energetic voice. They told Dr. Ahmed that their guest said he was “one of the good ones.” Dr. Ahmed said to tell their family he appreciated their kind words.

But the patient hadn’t been talking about their family. They meant the guest who was in the room with them right now.

However, it was nighttime. Visiting hours were long over, and they were alone in the dark room. Dr. Ahmed was so freaked out that he swore he could feel his soul leave his body.

He felt a nurse come up beside him and was relieved not to be alone. But when he glanced over, no one was there. He nearly bolted out of the room, but managed to walk away calmly.

In the comments section, many TikTok users shared similar spooky events they have experienced at hospitals.

“I met the most wonderful nurse after I had my son. I was having a ‘question everything’ moment with this tiny creature I made at midnight, and this nurse was an angel. She soothed me off to sleep in a busy maternity ward. Asked about her the next day, but no one fit the description,” commented one user.

“I was on duty at a ward on night shift years ago. We were short-staffed, and it was only [a healthcare assistant and me]. It was really busy, and there was a new mom I just never managed to get to. In the morning, I apologized to her, and she said it was fine. The other midwife helped her. So, thanks to that ghost, I guess,” wrote another.

“During my dad’s final days, he kept hearing someone singing (no music was playing in the facility). He said it was the most beautiful voice he had ever heard. It gives me chills every time I think of it,” added a third.
