Check Out These Adorable Photos Of Leonardo DiCaprio Auditioning As A Teen

Leo appeared as Jack in the 1997 movie Titanic, and that was really the start of everyone noticing how talented he really was, but what did he do before that?

Growing up, Leo’s step-brother got into acting, and he pretty much followed suit. As a 5-year-old, Leo starred in Romper Room, but he experienced only ten seconds of fame before he was promptly fired from his position.

“Romper Room was the big hit show, and there I was,” he explained to Deadline in an interview about his early years of acting.

“I remember running up to the camera, looking into it, and slapping it. They had to sit me down multiple times.”

“And when the host said, “Hey, kids, it’s story time,” I am screaming, at the top of my voice, “Yeaaah!” And then they fired me. I’m afraid I deserved it. They had to kick me out.”

From there, Leo started getting involved in commercials, and he worked for some pretty big names like Kraft and Mattel.

He was able to move into TV work again, playing in a couple of minor roles in various shows.

The biggest thing he starred in on TV was a sitcom called Parenthood, but that was only on NBC for a single season, ending in 1991.
