Hilaria Baldwin Bravely Talks About Miscarriages In Honor Of Infertility Awareness Week

“I was told “it’s just bad luck”…there is so much mystery why certain souls come into our lives and others do not,” Hilaria said in her post, including a photo of her crying just after she lost that first baby, with her daughter Carmen next to her.

“Today this baby I cried for in this picture would have been about a year,” Hilaria went on. “April 23 was her 39 weeks.”

“I had to go home and sleep with her inside of me for one more night before having surgery the next. This was the last photo of my girls at the time.”

“My face so swollen—I remember being surprised that the body could make so many tears—kept on thinking I’d run out of them.”

She then shared the below photo of her while she was pregnant; a few days prior to losing her baby. She admits she was exhausted in the snap, but she was so happy to be pregnant.

This past September, Hilaria had her son Edu, and then a few months after her daughter Lucia was born (she was carried by a surrogate).

“We all have different fertility/infertility stories and there are so many ways we can become parents,” Hilaria explained.

She then encourages anyone who is struggling with infertility to connect with those around them.

“We are a mighty bunch who carry this heaviness in our hearts—and together we can lighten each other’s load through support and understanding,” she concluded.
