Here’s The Story Behind How Will Smith Met Jada Pinkett Smith
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are one of my favorite couples in Hollywood, and one of the reasons why I like them so much is due to their refreshing honesty about one another and their relationship.
Will and Jada got married back in 1997, and they have 2 children; Jayden and Willow. Although Will and Jada did have a small period of separation, they never let that get them down.
In fact, it only made them come back stronger together in their marriage.

On an episode of Red Table Talk, Jada got Will to sit down with her to dish details on their relationship.
She mentioned that at first, she met Will when she was just 19-years-old. She was on the set of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
She auditioned for the role of his girlfriend but she was told she wasn’t tall enough to play the role (Jada is only 5 feet tall).
Jada ended up going out on one date with Alfonso Ribeiro, who was Will’s co-star on the show. Will then saw Jada on another show at a later time called A Different World, and he was smitten.
“So Alfonso knew you,” Will said to Jada. “I was like yo, dude, I saw this girl on Different World last night; her name is Jada.”
Alfonso said he could get Will introduced to Jada.
“I have a thing, I recognize when I see a person if our relationship can be exponential,” Will continued.

He can feel when someone is right for him, and he felt like that with Alfonso. He felt the same exact way when he saw Jada on the show.
Will went to a taping of the show that Jada was on, but met his first wife Sheree Fletcher at the taping and ended up marrying her first.
He never met Jada that day! Over the next few years, they had what Will called “near misses.”
It wasn’t until Will was married and on a date with his wife Sheree that he paused in the restaurant’s bathroom to consider something big.
“I had a realization I wasn’t with the person I was supposed to be with,” Will recounted. “I was sitting in a stall and I was crying and laughing uncontrollably and I knew (Jada) was the woman I was supposed to be with, but I was never getting divorced.”
“I went back out, sat down with Sheree, and started going back on with my life.”
When Sheree was the one to break things off with Will, he felt like it was finally time for him to see if Jada would be interested.
Will asked Jada if she was dating anyone, and when she replied that she was not, Will’s response was, “cool, you’re seeing me now.”
Jada left Baltimore behind, moved to California, and started her relationship with Will. The rest is history! That’s a pretty neat love story, right?
