When TikToker Lula (@lulaindee) was eight months pregnant, she caught her husband with a woman he was paying to sleep with him. One morning, she woke up with an overwhelming feeling to check his phone.
She decided to listen to her instincts, so while her husband was in the bathroom, she looked through his recently opened apps and saw a confirmation email for a hotel room booked that night.
That night, they were supposed to go to a birthing class for first-time parents. She took a screenshot of the email and sent it to herself.
Then, she went to work like normal. At work, she continued to do some digging. She logged into their phone service account and found a bunch of texts and calls to random phone numbers. It turned out that the numbers all belonged to services that provide women to sleep with you for a fee.
“Up until this point, there was still no mention to me about a hotel,” said Lula. “I acted completely normal all day. I finished my work day, gathered all my information, and met him at our birthing classes that night.”
“Right at the beginning of our birthing classes, he preps me that something came up with work and he has to leave the birthing classes early.”
So, halfway through the class, he left. She finished the class by herself. Afterward, she searched up the address for the hotel and drove over there.
She went up to the front desk, showed the confirmation email to the woman, and told her that her husband forgot to give her a key for the hotel room he had booked.
The lady gave her a key. Lula proceeded to waddle up the stairs and go up to her husband’s door. She stood at the door and was about to insert the key when she heard noises.
Suddenly, she decided that she needed to come up with a different plan in case the situation turned dangerous. She was eight months pregnant and didn’t want any harm to come her way.
So, she went to the end of the hallway and hid behind the door to the stairwell. She kept the door propped open just enough for her to see the entrance of his hotel room. Eventually, the [woman he was paying to sleep with him] came out of the room. A few minutes later, her husband walked out.
Lula followed him to the parking lot and watched him get into his car. He was actually driving her car because they had switched vehicles that day. She walked around to the passenger side and knocked on the window while he was staring at his phone. He looked up, startled to see her there.
“Me catching him in this hotel room with [a woman he was paying to sleep with him] was just the beginning of what I came to find out this man was up to for the two and a half years that we were married,” said Lula.
“If you’re married or in a relationship and your gut instinct is telling you that something is wrong or to check something or look into something, don’t ignore it.”
