“My mom didn’t really know how to respond and told her okay, and when I scolded my mom for telling her yes, my mom said “well she’s a bride too”, almost trying to justify her wearing this elaborate dress to my party,” she said.
Her sister-in-law had her wedding 2 years ago, so she really is not a bride currently. That’s old news.
“I would’ve been fine if this situation hadn’t happened before, but she tried to also wear another extravagant dress to my actual engagement (which I knew about) and I told her it was a little much,” she continued.
“She seems to constantly try to steal the attention away and manipulate things to get her way and I’m kinda sick of it.”
She thinks nobody else notices her sister-in-law’s behavior except her. She knows this is her brother’s wife, so she tries to be nice to her constantly, but she’s sick of her copying everything she does while trying to always one-up her.
She really is not an insecure person; she simply wants her sister-in-law to tone it down for her engagement party, which is fair.
