A 27-year-old woman got engaged back in October of last year, and she’s beginning to plan her wedding.

Now, one of her friends has been engaged since December of 2020, though this friend of hers hasn’t begun doing anything to plan her wedding aside from looking at wedding dresses.

Her friend recently noticed a wedding dress that’s made by a very specific designer that she also happens to like.

Her friend ended up showing her this wedding dress and said that she would be purchasing it for her upcoming wedding, even though she has not yet gone to see the dress, she has not yet tried it on, and she has not yet bought it.

“I never even thought to argue with her that she can’t claim a dress she has never seen because I didn’t think it would work for my body,” she explained.

“But over the weekend my mom and I went to that designer’s bridal showroom and I ended up trying on my friend’s “dream” dress on a whim, because none of the other dresses I tried on were super flattering on my body.”

Well, she slipped into that wedding dress and there was no doubt in her mind it was her dream wedding dress too.

She thought she looked amazing in the dress, and she knew there was nothing else that she should try on.

She decided then and there to buy this wedding dress, though as she was checking out she felt incredibly ashamed that she was not only buying her dream wedding dress; but this was her friend’s exact dream wedding dress as well.

Her mom as well as the consultant at the bridal shop insisted that she could still buy this dress since her friend hadn’t even tried it on or anything yet and that it wasn’t fair of her friend to say this was her dress.

“After a few days I let my friend know that I had selected her “dream” dress and she told me that I had ruined her wedding vision and that if she had known I would entertain trying on her “dream” dress, she would have started planning months ago,” she said.

“I was honest with her and said that this dress was one of the few dresses that worked for my body type and it made me feel a beautiful bride and she told me that I should have been more respectful as a friend to have not tried it on because she claimed it.”

“A part of me finds it to be so ridiculous to call dibs on a dress they have never seen or tried on.”

At this point, she doesn’t feel so remorseful at all for buying the dress. Instead, that feeling has been replaced by irritation.

The wedding dress that both she and her friend are fighting over does happen to come in a completely different color so her friend could go ahead with that and they still would have different enough dresses.

She wouldn’t mind at all if her friend did want to do that, but her friend hasn’t accepted that as a good enough option for her special day.

She wants to put this all behind them, but her friend is not willing to let this whole thing go.

Do you think it was wrong of her to purchase her friend’s dream wedding dress?
