This Poor Woman Says That One Of Her Guests Changed The Locks On Her Place That She Rents On Airbnb

Manika and Ashley are professional Airbnb owners and have been through tons of repairs and creative solutions since they started five years ago.

They even have a Tik Tok page together called “bucketlistbestfrans.” But they’d never experienced what recently happened at one of their properties before, so they decided to share the story in a recent Tik Tok video.

Their housekeeper went to clean the Airbnb, but when one of them got there, it appeared that the guests had changed the code to the lockbox.

Though it’s puzzling why a guest would do this, some commenters had theories. One said that he always changes the code when staying in Air b and b’s, but remembers to change it back so the owners can regain access.

The video shows her having to break open the lockbox to fix the problem. Still, Ashley and Manika came out of the experience with a positive attitude and even had tips for anyone hoping to get into the Airbnb business.

“Never be surprised by what guests do. Just always be prepared!”

There were plenty of shocked reactions, as well as more helpful tips in the Tik Tok’s comments section.

One user said, “That’s when I report them to Airbnb and request a reimbursement for my lockbox.”

Others recommended new lock types or even an electronic door that can be remotely controlled using the house’s Wi-Fi.

In an emotional video, one of the partners shared that she’d recently quit her full-time to focus on their Airbnb business.

She was on the phone with her boss with tears in her eyes but assured viewers that taking this leap was an essential part of her journey. “This is your motivation. If you’re scared, that’s okay. Still, go after your dreams.”

In another video, they share that they use a realtor to find new properties to convert into Airbnb’s. He even gives them early access to newly renovated properties that are generally “bright and airy, modernized, [and] in great locations.”

Besides the upsides of being Airbnb owners, Manika and Ashley also share the more challenging moments, like when guests have trashed their properties.

This video was sent to the partners by their housekeepers. It showed a collapsed sink, trash all over the floor, and a massive hole in the wall.

Luckily, the housekeeping staff supported them while they returned the properties to working order. To check out more of Manika and Ashley’s Airbnb journey, you can find their Tik Tok page here.
