He did not feel “comfortable” revealing this information to his wife, since he was concerned that if she knew how wealthy he was it would “change her” in some kind of way.
His wife’s family is pretty wealthy on their own, so he isn’t positive why he ever worried about his wife in regards to his money, but he did.
After getting married, his wife became a stay-at-home mom, which he fully supported. He has always been in charge of managing their money and expenses, so his wife really has no idea that he’s extremely wealthy at this point in life.
“It’s just weird knowing we have a lot of money and not sharing that information with the person I’ve shared everything with the last 10 years,” he said.
“I make plenty to keep my wife at home but she wants to start contributing because our kids are all in school.”
He really would like to let his wife know that she will never have to worry about bringing money in or holding down a job.
In fact, he has so much money saved up that he does not even need to continue working at all either.
He can simply continue not telling his wife the truth, but he also is not interested in outright lying to his wife.
He’s left wondering if the best way to break the news to her is to let her see exactly what is sitting in all of the bank accounts he’s been in charge of.
