She figured that her boyfriend would just go to prom along with his closest friends, and she was completely ok with that.
“I trust him,” she said. “I guess he just feels a little bummed out because most of his friends are going with their dates so he’d be the odd one out and feel awkward.”
“Today at school, he recently told me he told his mom about how I couldn’t go, and that she was mad because this was “the only prom experience he could get” and that I “shouldn’t hold him back from that experience, so he should go to prom with someone else.”
Her boyfriend did stick up for her, pointing out to his mom that he has no interest in taking another girl and that he found it not very nice of her to suggest that.
Should she let her boyfriend go with another girl instead of her?
