She Was Brutally Honest During Her Maid Of Honor Speech And Her Best Friend Thinks It Ruined Her Wedding

Except…she did decide to say it out loud. She did decide to voice her displeasure to her best friend in front of all of the guests gathered around at the wedding.

When it came time for her to get up there in front of everyone and give her maid of honor speech, she completely went off-script.

She did prepare a lovely speech to read aloud to her best friend and everyone gathered there on that day, but she threw it out the window as soon as she took hold of the microphone.

Feeling that the words on the page were nothing but dishonest, she spoke from her heart.

“I said that I don’t want to lie, I want to be honest but I’m not happy,” she said. “I’m not happy that this person she married is the reason our friendship changed.”

“I’m not happy on this day. I just pretended the whole day for her sake but it would be a shame for me to get up there and lie about how happy and excited I am.”

“I said I’m not happy but regardless I have to suck it up and congratulate the happy couple. There was an awkward silence for 2-3 minutes after my speech.”

Her best friend broke the silence by leaning over to whisper to her husband, and for the remainder of the evening, her best friend paid her no attention.

She tried to talk to her best friend after the speech that she gave, but her best friend was visibly angry with her and brushed her off, saying it was “not the right time” to talk.

As she tried to enjoy the rest of her best friend’s wedding, she got nasty looks from pretty much every person in the room. Surprisingly, nobody said anything to her though.

Two days after her best friend’s wedding, she was shocked that her best friend didn’t try to reach out to her.
