Recreate The Famous Chick-Fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich With This At-Home Airfryer Recipe

Are you crazy about Chick-Fil-A’s spicy chicken sandwich?

This simple yet mouth-watering sandwich, which comes with a crispy fried chicken breast and dill pickle chips between a buttery bun, is a fan favorite among Chick-Fil-A lovers across the nation.

But, frequenting fast food joints can put a dent in people’s savings quickly. Moreover, some might shy away from getting the fried delicacy too often for health reasons.

So, if you have been searching for a more health-conscious and budget-friendly Chick-Fil-A alternative that you can make at home, look no further.

Chef Alexandra on TikTok has created an entire video series about how to replicate fast food in your own kitchen, and one of her recipes specifically covers the Chick-Fil-A spicy chicken sandwich.

To make the dupe, you should first grab a medium-sized bowl and combine diamond crystal salt, coarse ground black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne powder for a bit of heat.

But, fair warning– the more cayenne you add, the spicier your chicken will be. Then, after adding all of your dry ingredients, pour in some buttermilk.

Next comes your chicken breast prep. Wash and dry your chicken with a paper towel or cloth before cutting the breasts into uniform sizes.

Afterward, place the chicken in a Ziploc bag, pour in the marinating mixture from earlier, and pop the bag into the fridge.

“Marinate this for at least one hour but preferably overnight,” Alexandra advised.

The second part of the recipe involves making the chicken’s breading. You should combine starch, diamond crystal salt, onion powder, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, sugar, and black pepper in another medium-sized bowl.

Whisk the mixture together before finally adding in some flour and stirring until thoroughly combined.

Now, it is time to bread the chicken. Remove the chicken breasts from the marinating mixture and immediately dunk them into the dry mixture first.

Then, coat them in egg before dipping them in the dry mixture again.

Coating the chicken breasts in the dry mixture twice will ensure that your breading comes out thick and crispy.

Finally, once you have finished breading the chicken, you should place them in your air fryer and set it to three hundred and seventy-five degrees.

The chicken will only need to cook for about twenty-five minutes before they are golden brown.

Plus, one perk of making this sandwich at home is that you can add as many toppings as you want at no extra cost.

Alexandra constructed her sandwich using a buttered bun, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle chips, and store-bought Chick-Fil-A sauce– and it looks utterly delicious.
