Dylan Mulvaney Speaks Out About Caitlyn Jenner’s Hypocrisy After The Celeb Misgendered Her And Tore Her Down As A Trans Woman On Twitter
In March of this year, Dylan Mulvaney came out as a trans woman online and began fostering conversations about her transition on TikTok. It was on the video platform that Dylan also launched a new series, “Days of Girlhood,” in which she vlogged about her day-to-day experiences as a woman.
The series is one of self-discovery, vulnerability, and education that allowed Dylan to create a massive community of friends and supporters.
In fact, since she began detailing her days, Dylan has amassed a following of over 9.2 million people– a number that only continues to grow.
Recently, though, the supportive TikTok bubble sadly burst after Tenessee Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn found Dylan’s account and attacked one of her videos.
In the TikTok in question, Dylan detailed how on day seventy-four of girlhood, she had been walking through the mall wearing shorts and noticed that other mall-goers were staring at her crotch “because [her] crotch doesn’t look like other women’s crotches sometimes.”
And at that moment, Dylan realized she had three options. She could either stop wearing tighter-fitted clothing and opt for looser items; she could perform a “tuck,”; or she could just rock the “bulge” and normalize it.
“We’ll all just normalize women having bulges sometimes– because we are coming up on bikini season, and you might see a bulge or two,” Dylan said.
“Normalize the bulge. We are normalizing the bulge. Women can have bulges, and that’s okay. We are not going to stare at their crotches while they are wearing little shopping shorts at the mall.”

After Sen. Marsha Blackburn saw the video, though, she decided to share a clip from Dylan’s video and condemn the normalization on Twitter.
“Dylan Mulvaney, Joe Biden, and radical left-wing lunatics want to make this absurdity normal,” Blackburn tweeted. The post then gained nearly ten thousand likes and almost one thousand and five hundred retweets.
Then, as the tweet picked up momentum, Caitlyn Jenner also jumped into the conversation and misgendered Dylan as well as tore her down.
“He is talking about his [genitals]!” Caitlyn originally tweeted– a response that has since been deleted.
“There is a difference between acceptance and tolerance, and normalizing exposing your genitals in a public way and a public place. I do not support that at all, in the slightest. Dylan… congrats you’re trans with a [gentials],” Caitlyn added in a subsequent tweet.
Immediately after posting, though, tons of people flocked to defend Dylan and pointed out the hypocrisy of it all.
“You realize you transitioned, right? And support a political party that demonizes the trans community. You play on a female golf team, and at the same time, Republicans are banning trans kids from playing sports. You’re a walking hypocrite,” responded one user.
“You called her a he… That’s the issue, don’t you see that? You would have had a fit if someone called you a he in the public eye. I will never call you an ally of the LGBTQ+ or a part of our community. Disgrace,” another user wrote.
“Seriously?! That would be like me calling you Bruce!! You should be ashamed of yourself! How dare you!” said a third outraged user.
Numerous people also pointed out that Caitlyn accused Dylan of “exposing herself” when she was simply wearing shorts– and not even short shorts.
Following the controversy, Dylan then took to TikTok to share her feelings on the Senator and Cailtyn’s derogatory statements.
In true Mulvaney manner, though, she was respectful and insightful and delivered her response with a smile on her face.
“Hi, Caitlyn, I’m Dylan, and we are two of the most privileged trans women in America at the moment, and with that comes a lot of responsibility,” Dylan began in the video.
She went on to point out how although she and Caitlyn have very different views on most things, she probably would have been willing to sit down with Caitlyn and connect with her prior to the statements online.
“Because I have a lot of respect for you as a fellow trans woman. But then you decided to ridicule me very publicly,” Dylan went on.
She detailed how she was most outraged about Caitlyn’s misgendering at first and then was even more hurt by Caitlyn’s follow-up tweet claiming that there was “a difference between acceptance and tolerance and normalizing exposing your genitals in a public way.”
“Girl, you’re making me sound like I’m some creepy flasher exposing myself! I was wearing perfectly normal shorts at the mall,” Dylan pointed out.
Afterward, she also revealed how two trans women had gifted her special underwear designed for tucking and educated her on how to use the undergarments since they realized she was struggling.
“And I’m just curious if you can think back to your early days of transitioning and being embarrassed about your body or having strangers give you dirty looks. That’s why I made that video– because I was embarrassed, and I wanted to reclaim my body in a positive way. And now you’ve taken that, and you’ve turned it into something really ugly.”
Dylan then opened up about how she had cheered on Caitlyn from afar immediately after the star came out.
She also detailed how she is happy Caitlyn was able to get any surgeries she wanted. But for Dylan, the process is still underway.
“I am twenty-five years old, and I am on day two hundred and thirty-three. I can’t even get bottom surgery right now if I wanted to– I haven’t been on hormones long enough. I’m not as far along as you. Please be patient,” she pointed out.
Dylan ended her video by urging her followers to refrain from going after Caitlyn. After all, she knows how hard it is to be publicly trans and does not want any other trans woman to be torn down.
Still, she noted how Caitlyn did not offer her the same grace and respect and is not living up to the responsibility that comes with having such a large and influential platform.
“Any trans person invalidating another trans person’s transness is pretty evil, in my eyes,” Dylan said, “You were Woman of the Year. This is not ‘Woman of the Year’ behavior.”
