In 1995, This 6-Year-Old Girl Was Abducted While Attending A Little League Game With Her Mother In Arkansas And Has Remained Missing For Over 27 Years

Additionally, the man suspected in Morgan’s disappearance was described by witnesses as being a white male standing six feet tall with an average build. He also reportedly had an inch-long beard and mustache and was believed to be between twenty-three and thirty-eight years old.

At the time, attendees of the little league game also remembered seeing a red Ford pickup truck with a white camper and Arkansas license plates disappear from the parking lot around the same time as Morgan’s abduction. Unfortunately, though, the lead did not prove fruitful.

And this sadly became a theme in Morgan’s case following the launch of a massive investigation. Thousands of people came forward with leads and tips over the years, but none of the information ever led to a solid clue that could help locate the six-year-old.

Then, out of desperation, the FBI and local law enforcement even offered a sixty thousand dollar reward for any information that led to the recovery of Morgan and the conviction of her abductor.

By 2001, though, the FBI regained a sliver of hope and believed they were one step closer to identifying the man who had kidnapped Morgan.

That year, the bureau requested information on a now-deceased criminal named Billy Jack Links.

Links was born in Crawford County, Arkansas, before becoming a serviceman during World War II. Then, he returned to the state during the 1970s, and between 1962 and 1974, he worked in Dallas, Texas, for Braniff Airlines.

The FBI began to suspect Links, though, because just two months after Morgan was taken, he reportedly tried to abduct another young girl from a Sonic fast food chain in Van Buren, Arkansas. This chain location was a mere eight miles from the little league field where Morgan was kidnapped.

On top of that, Links also drove a 1986 Chevrolet pickup truck that was the color red. So, following his attempt to abduct the second little girl, investigators examined Links’ truck and discovered numerous pieces of evidence– including a rope, a tarp, duct tape, a machete, and blood. Hair fibers were also discovered on the floorboard and on the seats.

Even though these findings seem damning, though, authorities have been unable to link the items to Morgan’s case.

This is because the original evidence reportedly cannot be located– which rules out the possibility of DNA testing.
