Just as Julia was leaving, though, someone inside the house reportedly saw what had happened and actually began chasing her best friend on foot.
Hence why she received that frantic call– because Julia was nervous that the person was out in the neighborhood looking for her.
So, after hearing about this whirlwind of a story, she ultimately told Julia that she could keep the scooter at her apartment.
She also offered to give her best friend a change of clothes and a ride home, that way, Julia did not have to risk walking through the neighborhood.
After doing all that and returning back to her apartment, though, she was met by her furious boyfriend.
He claimed that she should have known Julia’s call was about something illegal and was pissed off that by her best friend coming over, they could have attracted trouble to their apartment.
Her boyfriend also pointed out how the person Julia took the Vespa from might have bought the scooter secondhand.
Meaning that, for all that person knows, it might have appeared as though Julia had just walked into their garage and robbed them.
She obviously knew the whole situation by that point, though, and decided to stick her next out for her friend.
She said that she trusted Julia and that it was for sure her best friend’s scooter.
Honestly, though, her boyfriend just did not care. In fact, he called her naive and claimed that she and Julia could not act like vigilantes and pretend that what Julia did was normal. He just was not okay or comfortable with that.
