When she and her husband got ripped apart by her granddaughter for buying an air fryer off her registry, they were completely appalled.
But then, her granddaughter said that if they didn’t pay for a pricey present, she would not be allowing them to come to her wedding after all.
“We discussed it, bought her a China set, but we did not give her the money that was set aside for her. We decided that she did not deserve it,” she said.
“Fast forward to last week, she met up with her brother, they got to talking, and she found out about the cash gift that he got. She asked her cousins and found out all of them got the same gift. She called us furious for discriminating against her. We told her that it was our money, and after how she behaved, we did not want to give it to her.”
Her granddaughter began sobbing and excusing her behavior away as just wedding day stress. Her granddaughter also stated that they should not have taken her behavior personally because of that.
She just said to her granddaughter that she and her husband are sticking to what they already decided to do; not give her the money at all.
After that conversation, her granddaughter said she won’t be coming to Christmas with them, and also, their granddaughter’s mom (who is their daughter-in-law) has since accused them of being jerks. She’s left wondering if it was wrong of her and her husband not to gift their granddaughter the $40,000 they intended to after she was so rude to them about the wedding gift they gave her in advance.
Do you think this girl deserves any of their money?
