She Grabbed Dinner With A Guy Who Made Her Split The Bill With Him Before Asking If She Considered Their Night Out A Date

Once Wednesday came, she started to get ready for the date. Although she believed that they had agreed on a specific time, he unexpectedly decided to delay their date, even though he had the least distance to travel.

“I was on my way there at around 7 ’cause it takes me 30 minutes to get uptown where he lives, and we chose a place near him,” she said. “At 7:05, he DMs me, and he goes, ‘hey, can we do 7:45 instead? I have to run an errand’.”

Asking to delay 5 minutes because you’re running late is one thing, but an entire 15 minutes because you want to stop at a few stores beforehand isn’t the right approach to a date. It’s no wonder she thought she was just meeting a friend for dinner.

“I’m like, ‘okay, well, I’m already going to be there at 7:30 at this rate, so I’ll grab us a table’,” Sara said.

But the red flags started to wave for her once she got to the restaurant, and had to wonder if he wasn’t coming.

“I’m waiting, you know, 15 minutes, and then 7:50 rolls around–he’s still not there; 7:52–he’s still not there; he messages me: ‘just got here,'” she said. “I’m like, ‘great! I’m inside.’ I waited another 15 minutes for this guy.”

Right when she started thinking that she should leave the restaurant, he walked through the door.

“He comes in, and he’s like, ‘oh, I’m so sorry! I was sitting outside at a table,'” Sara explained. “At this point, I’m like, okay, uh–interesting.”

Being extremely late wasn’t the only red flag for her on this date. There were plenty more to come.

“Second thing, again, I’m asking a lot of the questions,” she said. “He doesn’t get my sense of humor most of the time.”

The end of the date couldn’t come fast enough for her, but when it did, she was shocked by his behavior.
