She Refused To Let Her Friend Wear Her Wedding Dress, So Her Friend Lied And Nearly Got Her Husband To Drop Off The Gown Anyway

This 32-year-old woman is currently married to her husband, Howie, who is 36. She is also 16 weeks pregnant and is very excited to welcome her first child into the world.
“Especially after having an early miscarriage back in September,” she said.
One of her biggest fears concerning pregnancy, though, is weight gain. She claims that she is not normally a “small” person but is not very large, either.
For reference, she is reportedly a bit smaller than the average-sized American woman but still believes she could stand to lose between 10 and 20 pounds.
Due to this, she was already pretty concerned about her weight before she found out she was expecting. And now, the idea of having to lose post-baby weight on top of her pre-pregnancy weight is stressing her out.
Thankfully, though, she is not in this alone– since her husband, Howie, also wants to drop some pounds. So, the pair decided to pick out one outfit each that they would like to fit in again after the baby arrives and they meet their weight loss goals.
Howie ended up choosing the outfit he wore on the day they met; meanwhile, she opted for her wedding dress, which she wore when they got married in April 2022.
In September of this year, though, her 34-year-old friend named May will be getting married to her fiancé, Joe, who is 37. And even though she has gone wedding dress shopping with May a few times, her friend has not been able to find the right gown.
And over this past weekend, she realized what her friend was really looking for. Apparently, May wanted a wedding dress that looked just like hers.

Obviously, though, May was having a lot of trouble finding a gown that matched her expectations. So, she was ultimately asked if she would allow May to borrow her wedding dress.
Honestly, though, she did not want any alterations made to her dress– especially because she already had customizations added to the gown, and she really felt like it was “her dress.”
“It truly is my dress, and no one has one like it,” she added.
May claimed to be in a really bad bind, though and pointed out how there was not enough time to order a dress and have it altered by the wedding date.
But, while she did feel bad for her friend, she ultimately told May no. After all, she just does not want anyone to ever wear her wedding dress, period.
May reportedly did not take no for an answer, though, and just kept pressuring her for the gown. So, at that point, she told her friend that her decision not to lend out the dress was not just for sentimentality– it was also because of the weight loss goal that she and her husband set together.
“I also have an hourglass figure, whereas May is more shaped like an apple. No insults– but it is just how she looks,” she explained.
And as of right now, her wedding dress actually still fits her. She is just anticipating that, after giving birth, that won’t be the case anymore– meaning it would make a perfect weight loss outfit.
But, if she allows May to borrow the dress, she knows it would have to be altered so much to fit her friend’s shape that it just would not really be her dress anymore.
Still, May did not really get her reasoning and told her that she had an entire wardrobe to choose from for the weight loss outfit. Her friend also claimed that no one ever fits in their dress for a few years after giving birth anyway.
Finally, May tried to say that baby weight does not go away and told her that she should be thinking about May’s wedding instead of some future weight loss goal. Regardless, she opted to stick to her guns and say no a final time.
Unfortunately, though, the drama did not end there– because just yesterday, her husband Howie randomly asked her if she agreed to give May the dress.
Then, once she told her husband no, he sent her a screenshot of a text from May’s fiancé Joe. Apparently, Joe messaged Howie asking him to drop off the gown once he got off work. Joe also thanked her for “being so generous.”
Now, to her, this made it seem as though May told Joe that she agreed to hand over the gown when she really refused. Plus, because of the lie, Joe is now furious at her because he believes she has changed her mind.
Her husband, Howie, did try to intervene and explain how she never actually agreed to lend May the dress. But still, it has not stopped May from blowing up her phone.
Apparently, her friend won’t stop asking her why she is so attached to the dress. She has also gotten accused of being a bad friend because she is “more interested in a material item” than May’s happiness on her wedding day.
“But I feel like this is self-explanatory. It’s my dress. The end,” she vented.
Still, with May totally up in arms, she has been left wondering whether not wanting to let her friend use her wedding dress is reasonable or not.
Does it make sense why she doesn’t want May to wear her gown? Is anyone required to lend out their wedding dress– even if it’s for a friend? Can you believe May tried to lie and get her husband Howie to drop off the gown behind her back? How would you handle this sticky situation?
