A few days later, she started receiving angry calls from family members, including her aunt, who was devastated. They all became very upset that she quit on her aunt while she was struggling.
“At this point, I was exhausted, and the few days I had away from everything really reminded me how good it felt to relax,” she remembered.
“So when my Aunt called me and apologized, offering me my job back, I turned her down.”
Her aunt told her she couldn’t hire anyone new because she couldn’t afford to pay them enough. This meant that if she did go back to work for her aunt, she still would’ve been earning significantly less pay than she deserved.
She still turned down the job and hasn’t heard from her aunt since. About a month after their conversation, her aunt’s business failed. Now, her family members are saying that it’s all her fault.
Do you think she holds any responsibility for her aunt’s business failing?
