Not wanting to disappoint the bride and groom with an attention-grabbing proposal, he turned on a much more loud and upbeat song called “Boogie” before Kevin could pop the question.
Kevin gave him a nasty look before going to sit down with his girlfriend. There was certainly some tension in the room after that, but no one brought it up for the rest of the night.
A few days later, he started receiving calls and messages from the bride and groom’s family. As it turns out, Kevin was the bride’s brother, and a bunch of people there knew he was planning to propose. However, no one told him that was going to happen.
“The family kept asking why I did that,” he recalled.
“I told them that proposing at someone else’s wedding was not appropriate. They told me that I shouldn’t have an opinion because I was just the DJ, and now Kevin got publicly humiliated.”
The bride didn’t have much to say about the incident and still payed him a generous amount of money for his work, so he doesn’t understand why her family members are getting so angry with him.
Do you think it was his fault for ruining Kevin’s proposal, or should someone have told him it was going to happen?
