He’s Threatening To Financially Cut Off His Daughter If She Won’t Be Civil To His New Girlfriend

Whenever he sees Jane, she always makes some sort of rude remark about Lacy, even when Lacy’s there. He’s tried getting Jane to talk to him about her feelings, but she always deflects and doesn’t give him the time of day.

Things came to a boiling point at his mother’s recent birthday party. Jane confronted him and asked why Lacy was there, and he explained to her that Lacy is important to him and has a great relationship with his mom.

Jane stormed off, and he didn’t see her for a while.

Then, Lacy approached him with tears in her eyes and said she wasn’t feeling well. After he pressed her, she revealed that Jane had pulled her aside and said some awful things to her. Jane also implied that she was a gold digger.

The next day, he had Jane visit his house while Lacy wasn’t there so they could talk.

“I told Jane that she doesn’t have to treat Lacy like her mom, but she has to, at the very least, be civil,” he remembered.

“She told me I was replacing her mom and that she hated that I was trying to forget her mom.”

He told Jane that was unfair of her to say since he still honors her mom all the time and even visits her grave twice a month.

Then, he asked Jane if she wanted him to be alone for the rest of his life, and she said she’d prefer that over him being with someone who’s after his money.

He then decided to give Jane a choice to make. He told her she could either start acting civil around Lacy or she would no longer receive any financial support from him.

Jane cursed at him and left his house. Later that day, his son called him and told him he was being unfair to Jane because it will take her a while to be comfortable with the idea of him moving on from their mom.
