Next, Mitchell gently folds his dry ingredients into his wet ingredients and warns not to over-mix.
Once everything has combined into a cohesive batter, Mitchell adds a third cup of chocolate chips and a third cup of chopped pecans, which he briefly toasted in a pot on the stove.
Next, Mitchell coats a 9-inch loaf pan in non-stick spray and adds a layer of parchment paper across the pan so the banana bread can smoothly come out of the pan when it’s cooled.
Then, he adds his batter to the loaf pan and places a longways slice of banana in the center. He also sprinkled a few more chocolate chips and pecans on top!
Then, Mitchell cleverly sprinkles a bit of sugar onto the slice of banana so it gets extra caramelized in the oven.
Finally, Mitchell places his banana bread into a 350-degree oven for 60-65 minutes or until it’s golden brown and baked through.
