She believes it would be one thing if Jen was able to get some use of the gift. If that were the case, she would look at it as money well-spent.
Although, if the present will just sit in Jen’s attic in a box for years to come, she doesn’t think that’s worth it.
That’s why, now, she’s actually considering asking Jen for the baby shower gift back.
“Ideally, we could get our money back somehow, although it’s probably too late,” she revealed. “And if we can’t, then I would at least like to gift it to someone else who can use it. I feel awful saying that, but it’s how I feel.”
Since this is obviously such a sensitive topic, though, she does not want to pressure Jen into anything if she is not ready.
So, she and her husband have been left wondering whether asking Jen to return the baby shower gift after suffering a miscarriage would make them real jerks or not.
Would it be insensitive to ask for the present back? Is it up to her or her husband to figure out if Jen is “using” the gift, or does it not matter at all? What would you do in this situation?
