Then, she even took it up a notch and referenced some of her stepmom’s past trauma.
“I called my stepmom a bully to her face and told her that she is no better than those girls who tormented her throughout high school if she even thinks her behavior toward me is acceptable,” she revealed.
Now, for context, her stepmom had been horribly bullied by classmates while growing up. In fact, other girls used to stuff dead animals in her stepmom’s mailbox and even call her pretty vulgar names.
So, after she called her stepmom out like that, her stepmom was completely stunned. Then, she watched as her stepmom ran downstairs in tears.
Still, in terms of calling her stepmom a bully, she thought it was justified.
“I don’t think it’s fair that she’s taking this pain out on me since I had absolutely nothing to do with it,” she reasoned.
Nonetheless, ever since comparing her stepmom to old high school bullies, she’s been left wondering whether that made her a real jerk or not.
Why do you think she was always compared to her cousin growing up? Can you understand why that really hurt her? Did she have a right to finally stick up for herself? Should she feel bad for hurting her stepmother’s feelings, or did her stepmom deserve it?
