As a punishment, the parents decided to take away all of the presents that the teenager had received that night and donate them. They also told her that they would not be throwing her any more birthday parties until she apologized to the girl for her behavior that night.
However, as time went on, that friend drifted away from his daughter’s friend group, and she never apologized to her.
Now, a few months before her 16th birthday, his daughter has already started talking about what type of party she wants for her sweet 16.
While her behavior has improved over the last year, he still reminded her of the deal they had made the previous year and that there would be no party unless she apologized to the girl. But she thinks that they’ll break and give her a party regardless.
“My in-laws are offering to pay for her party, but we have forbidden them from doing that. Daughter and both sets of grandparents are telling us that we are being too harsh and ruining her social life,” he added.
