Recently, Kari has started to put her dishes away by tossing them from halfway between the sink in the dining room table, which measures several feet away.
But, the majority of her dishes are ceramic or made of glass. So, when they are thrown from this distance, they get shattered and ruined.
“I’m at the point of using paper plates, cups, and bowls because I don’t have enough dishes any more. I’ve told and snapped at Kari to stop many times, but she does it anyway, giggles, and says, ‘Oops, sorry, guess I forgot,’ and practically skips out of the kitchen,” she revealed.
And at this point, she has had it with the disrespect and destruction that is happening in her own home because of this young adult. That’s why she told Jake that either Kari needs to pay for the broken dishes or move back in with her mom or her grandparents.
This behavior is unacceptable to her, but Jake doesn’t seem to care and doesn’t contemplate the idea that Kari could be being destructive on purpose.
Instead, he just thinks she is being rude toward his child and claimed he would forever be angry with her if she decides to kick Kari out.
Do you think she needs to be more patient with Kari, or do you think she is right in getting Kari to either pay up or move out? Do you think she should stay with Jake even though he tolerates this behavior?
